Worked with a number of clients and companies on a freelance basis, creating content for different audiences in the form of social-media posts, blogs, long-form articles and website copy. Also contributed articles to a variety of print and digital outlets.

Managed editorial and marketing operations for the whole company, ensuring accuracy and currency of content at all times. Boosted user numbers on various platforms and generated sales leads to meet defined KPIs. Expanded communication channels across print and digital while always maintaining a unified voice. Contributed to a variety of online and print outlets, including the Daily Telegraph, Saga, Reader’s Digest and Bookanista. Worked as a PR consultant for two clients, developed an app, ran my own journalism website and launched a podcast.

Oversaw the management and repositioning of Britain's leading general-interest brand.

Magazine & editorial

Led and supervised a diverse editorial team, overseeing features, staff recruitment, magazine redesign and cover creation. Successfully managed budgets and consistently met KPIs. Worked with advertising to enhance our brand and create new partnerships.

Digital relaunch

Oversaw significant digital expansion, revamping the website for a vertical strategy and new ad options. Boosted our social-media following, leveraging it for commercial and editorial objectives through campaigns and promotions. Collaborated with a digital editor to enhance content and site performance. Successfully launched the Reader's Digest podcast, co-writing, editing and conducting interviews, which swiftly attracted an audience in the thousands and secured sponsorships.

Company restructure

Rebuilt the editorial team by hiring and training a sub-editor, assistant editor and digital editor. Helped lead a rapid company restructure, achieving profitability within 60 days.

Outside of work, my interests include film, literature, amateur dramatics, cycling and long walks in the Irish countryside. I also used the COVID-19 lockdown period to train as a person-centred counsellor (Levels 2 & 3) and volunteer as a Samaritan.
